Jakarta (MidLand) – Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro said his team has prepared security and traffic engineering (traffic) around the Istiqlal Mosque, during the Eid celebration al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.
“We are doing this together with Kodim, Kodam Jaya Polda Metro Jaya to ensure security at Istiqlal Mosque,” Susatyo said in the area of HI roundabout in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
He said that in addition to the Istiqlal Mosque, his party also carried out security activities during Eid al-Fitr prayer celebrations at several mosques that were prayer centers.
According to him, in addition to security, the Jakarta Central Metropolitan Police is also carrying out traffic engineering operations around the Istiqlal Mosque area because congestion is expected to occur in the area.
“We are also preparing traffic engineering at Istiqlal Mosque because it is estimated that during the holidays the area will be full of worshipers,” he said.
Susatyo added that his group alerted all Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police personnel from the evening of takbiran until Eid al-Fitr prayers.
Besides that, Susatyo said, his party also implemented security measures in strategic locations around central Jakarta to ensure everyone was safe.
“Security is part of a series with the implementation of Takbiran night and will continue from tonight until Eid al-Fitr prayers tomorrow. Priority locations will definitely be subject to police security,” he said .
Previously, Polda Metro Jaya said it was ready to guarantee all community activities, including takbiran nights in Jakarta.
“We are ready to guarantee all community activities,” he said when we met him at the roundabout of Hotel Indonesia.
He also explained that the public need not worry because officers are on the ground 24 hours a day and the public can call 110 if they need police assistance.
The former South Jakarta Metropolitan Police chief also said his party has deployed 1,840 joint staff members.
