Surabaya (MidLand) – Coalition for Change vice-presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin made the first day of campaigning for the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres) by visiting several areas in East Java province on Tuesday.
Spokesman for presidential and vice presidential candidate Anies-Muhaimin or “AMIN” East Java, Fauzan Fuadi, said Cak Imin had landed at Juanda Airport at 08.30 WIB, then headed to Jombang Regency, East Java for ask for his mother’s blessing.
“He immediately said hello, asked for blessings, greeted his mother or as we call it, Eyang in Jombang, then started campaigning and then made a pilgrimage to his extended family and ancestors at Mamba’ul Ma’arif Islamic College , Denayar,” Fauzan told Antara by phone.
After returning to her mother’s house and making a pilgrimage to Jombang, Cak Imin was due to leave for Mojokerto Regency to attend an open meeting of volunteers from the Nahdliyin women’s network.
“Then we continued to Suko village, Suko district, Mojokerto to attend an open meeting of around 1,000 volunteer cadres of the Nahdliyin women’s network across Mojokerto regency,” he said.
Subsequently, vice presidential candidate Anies Baswedan also took part in a friendly football match with club legends Persebaya, at Wedoro Field, Waru, Sidoarjo Regency.
The agenda is scheduled for 15.00 WIB and the Co Captain of the Anies-Muhaimin East Java (Timprov) provincial team, Dhimam Abror, will also be present.
“Later, the football legend with Persebaya will be Pak Dhimam Abror,” he said.
Cak Imin, Fauzan said, also hosted a dinner and greeted street vendors (PKL) in Taman Bungkul area, Surabaya.
“As well as a pilgrimage to the tomb of Mbah Bungkul, in Surabaya,” he said.
As is known, the campaign period for the 2024 presidential elections officially begins today, which will end on February 10, 2024.
The “AMIN” couple will campaign separately, if Cak Imin will campaign in East Java, then the presidential candidate of the Coalition for Change Anies Baswedan will carry out his activities in Jakarta.
