BPOLBF-Garuda Indonesia organizes famtrips to attract Singapore tourists
for four days i.e. from 21st to 24th March 2024 with several visits to different tourist spots in Labuan Bajo.
West Manggarai, NTT (MidLand) – The Executive Agency of the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) together with Garuda Indonesia organized Familiarization trip (Famtrip) e Meeting at the table presenting 10 Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (TA/TO) Outgoing company and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) Singapore company.
“So that we can open up opportunities for MICE and new package tours from the Singapore market,” BPOLBF Acting Principal Director Frans Teguh said in a statement in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Monday.
He explained that the famtrip was held in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency for four days i.e. from 21 to 24 March 2024 with several visits to different tourist spots in Labuan Bajo.
Subsequently, the B2B (Business to Business) activity of the Table Top program was carried out at Ayana Komodo Waecicu Resort, Labuan Bajo.
He added that it is hoped that this collaboration will further promote and expand Labuan Bajo’s travel and MICE share in the international market.
Meanwhile, BPOLBF has invited 18 tourism vendors or entrepreneurs to Labuan Bajo, namely Ayana Komodo Waecicu Beach, La Moringa, Meruorah Hotel Labuan Bajo, Cajoma Phinisi, NTT DMC, Grand Komodo, Komodo Escape, Jayakarta Hotel, DOCK, Sudamala Komodo Resort, GAHAWISRI, Plataran Komodo Resort, Ta’aktana Luxury Collection, Getrudis Travel, ASITA, ASKAWI and AWSTAR.
Frans Teguh also added that famtrips are an effective way to promote tourism destinations and products.
“I hope that by holding this tabletop business meeting we can amplify it into many tour packages in Labuan Bajo,” he explained.
Frans believes that this business can expand the tourism market, especially Singapore, by developing MICE and outbound tour packages in Labuan Bajo and Flores, in order to increase visits by Singaporean tourists to Labuan Bajo.
He explained that the Indonesian government really needs good cooperation with stakeholders, tourism entrepreneurs, airlines and local communities.
“We hope Labuan Bajo can become the best tourist destination in Indonesia and the world,” he said.
Bayu Kristiawan, sales director of Garuda Indonesia, said travel agents and tour operators in Singapore have responded positively to the implementation of famtrip in Labuan Bajo.
“We continue to try to promote Labuan Bajo so that more and more foreign tourists come here,” he said.
Ayana Komodo Waecicu general manager Dermot Birchal said that based on room booking data at Ayana Komodo Waecicu, Singapore tourists rank sixth in terms of the number of tourists in 2023.
“I hope that with this table, Singaporean tourists will be more and more interested in visiting Labuan Bajo,” he said.
One of the buyers from Singapore, Cathy Loh, said she would do her best to promote Labuan Bajo in the Singapore market.
