BP2MI socializes PMI protection for rural residents of Bali

The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) conducted awareness-raising activities regarding the placement and protection of Indonesian migrant workers (SMEs) among rural residents in Singapadu Village, Sukawati, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

“We provide contacts to the community here on the correct procedures and job opportunities abroad. “The issue is how to work abroad in a procedural way,” said BP2MI’s Head of Placement and Protection for Europe and the Middle East, Inspector General of Police. He said the socialization should provide information and education to people who want to work abroad so that they always follow the correct procedures and in accordance with law number 18 of 2017 regarding the protection of Indonesian migrant workers.

This activity is also an effort by BP2MI to continue to anticipate the departure of Indonesian migrant workers abroad in a non-procedural manner.

“We have an obligation to prevent it, one of which is through this activity by inviting a number of other related parties to the Gianyar regency area,” he said.

Ketut Suardana explained that his party has called on village heads to disseminate information to their residents to help prevent the PMI’s unprocedural departure.

“We ask the village head to help us spread this information to residents who don’t know much about working abroad,” he said.

Meanwhile, the head of the Gianyar Regency Manpower Service, Ida Ayu Ketut Surya Adnyani, expressed her gratitude to BP2MI that it was important to carry out this large-scale commitment to the community.

“It is our common duty to provide protection to Indonesian migrant workers. “We will continue to expand it for residents who want to work abroad,” he said.
