BMKG states that 27 regions have a warning status for thunderstorms and wind
MidLand, Jakarta – Council of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) has established a state of alert for the impact of rain in 27 regions of Indonesia. These areas have the potential for experimentation heavy rain which for some time was accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

The same status also applies to West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan. Besides that, also in the central part of Indonesia, starting from West Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku and Papua.
BMKG MP for Meteorology Guswanto said preparation efforts for extreme weather conditions that could cause hydrometeorological disasters need to be increased in various regions. According to him, according to the results of meteorological analyses, precipitation is expected to be abundant until March 8, 2024, reaching 150-300 millimeters (mm). “Potentially even more,” he said.

There is also a possibility of rain accompanied by lightning in the afternoon on Aru and Tanibar Islands. Meanwhile, morning rain tends to fall around Jambi, Banjarmasin, Palembang and Palangkaraya. Several cities, starting from Denpasar, Ambon, Mataram, Kupang, Jayapura, Manokwari, Mamuju, Serang, as well as Palangkaraya and Samarinda, have a chance of being showered with light rain during the day.
