Bing is protected from hacker threats: Okezone techno
JAKARTA – Bing has become one of the most popular search engines. But is Bing protected from hacker threats?
In the digital age, data security and user privacy are top priorities. Microsoft’s Bing has not escaped hackers aiming to hack into its users’ personal data.
Quoted from Digital trendsOn Monday (10/16/2023), a research team from Wiz, a cloud security company, recently managed to change the top search results in Microsoft’s Bing and gain access to users’ personal files simply by visiting a unsecured web page. This poses a serious potential threat to millions of users.
Since Bing is connected to Microsoft 365, the Wiz team was able to create a script that can steal access tokens from logged in users, giving access to their cloud data, including Outlook emails, calendars , Teams messages, OneDrive files, and more.
Overall, this reveals how easily a hacker can redirect Bing search results to malicious websites and steal Microsoft 365 users’ personal data at the same time.
It all started with the abuse of a simple login vulnerability. This flaw raises serious concerns regarding the lack of necessary measures to protect the personal data of millions of users. (Dinda Nabilah Khumairoh Aljiyad)
