Jakarta (MidLand) – BUMN Minister Erick Thohir has officially appointed Bayu Krisnamurthi, who previously served as chairman of the Supervisory Board of Perum Bulog, to become the principal director of Perum Bulog, replacing Budi Waseso.
Bayu Krisnamurthi, appointed by decree of the Minister of BUMN number SK-341/MBU/12/2023 dated December 1, 2023 regarding the dismissal and appointment of members of the board of directors of Perum Bulog, said that the mandate and trust of the State must be properly maintained, especially considering Bulog’s position in maintaining food sovereignty.
“At the same time continuing the leadership of Budi Waseso, who in my opinion has been good at overseeing the progress of Bulog’s transformation to date,” Bayu said in Jakarta on Friday.
Bayu also commended the leadership of Budi Waseso for being able to get Bulog through difficult times and for being able to keep the Bulog institution strong and capable of carrying out well every mission assigned by the state.
The inauguration of Bayu follows the results of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held on Friday (1/12) by Semen Indonesia Group (SIG). The EGMS officially decided that Budi Waseso, who had previously served as president and director of Perum Bulog, be appointed as the principal commissioner of the SIG.
Budi Waseso said that as a public servant he has accepted all government policies and is grateful to have led Bulog for more than 5 years.
“And I believe that Bulog’s replacement will be better and will continue the transformation that is already underway,” Budi said.
In the decree, Erick Thohir also added 1 director to Perum Bulog, namely the Director for Transformation and Institutional Relations, bringing the composition of the Perum Bulog board of directors to 6 directors from the previous 5.
After relinquishing his position, Bayu, as the new President and Director of Bulog, held a short limited meeting with the old and new directors to discuss next steps to determine future strategies for dealing with Christmas and New Year, as well as other policies that address global complexity and uncertainty.
Simultaneously with the replacement of the composition of the board of directors of Perum Bulog, BUMN Minister Erick Tohir also appointed the head of the National Food Agency, Arief Prasetyo Adi, as chairman of the supervisory board of Perum Bulog, replacing Bayu Krisnamurthi.
