Bantul (MidLand) – The General Election Commission of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, has emphasized to the newly appointed members of the Sub-District Election Committee (PPK) in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada), to firmly adhere to the code of ethics for election organizers.
“The PPK who swore an oath in their work must strictly abide by the regulations, laws, KPU regulations, Bawaslu regulations and the code of ethics for election organizers,” said Bantul KPU president Joko Santoso, inaugurating the members of the PPK for the concurrent regional conference in 2024. elections in Bantul, Thursday.
He also underlined that one of the principles of organizing elections and elections is professionalism, while people can be said to be professional if the person concerned has competence.
“The PPK can say that it is competent in electoral matters if it has at least two things, namely the first knowledge and the second experience,” he said.
Joko said that people who have knowledge do not necessarily have experience, while if people have experience, they certainly have knowledge.
“So don’t get bored of the elected PPK and continue to improve the technical knowledge of elections and ask many questions of previous organizers to gain experience, because PPK is a source of election references at the subdistrict level,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bantul KPU Community Participation and Human Resources (HR) Socialization Division Coordinator Wuri Rahmawati said the total number of PPK members for the inaugurated 2024 Pilkada was 85 people, distributed in 17 subdistricts, five people in each subdistrict.
The members of the 2024 Bantul Pilkada PPK consist of 56 men and 29 women, which is a representation percentage of female members of 34%.
“That all inaugurated members of the PPK will work for eight months in the stages of the 2024 Bantul regent and deputy elections,” he said.
