Serang (MidLand) – Banten police personnel evacuated a tourist suffering from shortness of breath at Pier VII on Sunday (14/4).
Banten Regional Police Public Relations Chief Pol Commissioner Didik Hariyanto in Serang, Banten on Sunday revealed that the incident started when one of the Bidhumas members was carrying out security operations at the transit site of the Pier VII which was in service at the time.
“One woman reported feeling symptoms of shortness of breath after getting off the ferry heading to the pier,” he said.
The police officers immediately coordinated with the ASDP Merak health team to provide rapid medical intervention.
To ensure that the evacuation of patients occurs quickly and smoothly, members of the Banten Regional Police provide escorts for travelers to take to the nearest health post.
Didik explained that this step was taken considering the increasing and heavy volume of vehicles during the crossing from Lampung’s Bakauheni Port to Merak Port.
“In this condition we must ensure that the patient receives the right help immediately,” he explained.
According to him, the woman’s condition is currently still in intensive care at ASDP Merak Health Post.
“This rapid treatment is a step that saves lives in emergency situations,” he stressed.
With good coordination between various related parties, it is hoped that management of emergencies such as this can be carried out effectively and efficiently to save lives and provide assistance to the health service.
“The evacuation is part of the efforts of the Banten police to maintain the safety and security of the community during the Eid homecoming season,” he said.
