TIME.CO, JakartaTemperature maximum a Bandung rises again in the middle of the dry season. Agency of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics o BMKG Bandung Geophysical Station recorded the hottest temperature reaching 35.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in the Flower City.

“In the past five years, this year was the warmest year for Bandung city, reaching 35.6 degrees Celsius,” said Yan Firdaus, meteorologist at BMKG Bandung, Monday, October 9, 2023.

Over the past week, warmer temperatures in Bandung have tended to increase. On October 2, 2023, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius. Referring to the normal maximum temperature of October in Bandung, namely 30.1 degrees Celsius, BMKG said that the extreme maximum temperature of October 2023 occurred for four days, namely 1, 3, 6, 7 and 8 October .

The definition of extreme air temperature, according to BMKG, is a condition of air temperature reaching three degrees Celsius or more above the local normal value. “As for the issue of rising temperatures, of course there is still the possibility of rising, depending on natural and anthropogenic factors,” Yan said.

According to him, the main factor in the increase in extreme temperatures is the lack of cloud cover which usually occurs at the height of the dry season. As a result, direct sunlight hits the Earth’s surface without the process of reflection and absorption by clouds in the atmosphere.
