Criteria:

Faculty members without PhDs from universities in developing countries and recently admitted to SNU as PhD students. Applicants may choose any research area, but priority will be given to engineering, medicine, public health, agriculture, development studies and Korean studies.

Purpose of the scholarship:

– Full tuition fees for up to 6 semesters
– A monthly allowance of 1.5 to 2 million Korean won for 3-4 years
– Round trip airfare
– Korean language training
– National health insurance

2. SNU I, II Global Scholarship

Criteria:

International student in postgraduate program.

Purpose of the scholarship:

– Tuition fees for one semester with SNU Global Scholarship I or II
– Living expenses of 1.2 million Korean won per month and round-trip airfare for new students, especially from SNU Global Scholarship I
– Intensive Korean language course

3. Excellent Foreign Student Scholarship (GSFS)

Criteria:

Recent graduates from universities in East, Southeast and Central Asia applying for certain departments of SNU.

Purpose of the scholarship:

Total waiver of tuition fees for up to four semesters and minimum living expenses of 500,000 Korean won per month.

4. Silk Road Scholarship

Criteria:

Graduated student in Social Sciences and Humanities.

Purpose of the scholarship:

– Total exemption from tuition fees for a maximum of four semesters

– A maximum of 1 million round-trip airline tickets in economy class
– Korean language training fee

5. Hyundai Motor Jung Mong-Koo Global Scholarship

Criteria:

– Graduate students admitted to SNU
– Is a citizen of Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos (does not apply to students with dual Korean citizenship)
– Major: Business/Economics, Natural Sciences and Engineering (related fields: intelligence information technology, biological health, new energy industry), Korean language and studies

Purpose of the scholarship:

– Entry fee
– Study grant of 1 million KRW per month
– Arrival fee of 2.5 million Korean won payable once
– A settlement grant of KRW 1 million upon completion of studies
– Invitations to events such as exchanges and seminars
– Participation fees in academic conferences abroad and additional scholarships
