After the vote, the atmosphere in Kendari city was quite favorable
Kendari (MidLand) – The atmosphere in the city of Kendari, South East Sulawesi (Sultra) seems safe and favorable after the vote, although there is a polling station (TPS) which ends the vote counting process and summarizes until 07:00 approximately WITA.
MidLand reporters at TPS 01, Wundudopi village, Baruga district, Kendari city, on Thursday, reported that the voting organizing team (KPPS) at TPS had just finished counting the votes and summarized and completed the administration before being taken to the sub-district office on Thursday morning.
“Thank God, the process of counting the votes of the five ballot boxes, namely the election of the president and vice president, members of the DPR RI, members of the DPD RI, members of the provincial DPRD and members of the DPRD citizen which were sealed by the KPU, was only completed this morning,” the KPPS said at the polling station. 01 Wundudopi Village, Muliadi Idris.
According to Muliadi, the delay in counting votes and administrative recapitulation at the TPS was due to an administrative error, because the plenary documents were confused when counting votes for provincial legislative candidates.
However, Muliadi explained, the first counting of votes began in the afternoon at 1.30 pm WITA, starting with the polls for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, then the polls for the DPR RI and DPD RI candidates.
“So when the KPPS team, together with the witnesses and Bawaslu, wanted to recap and count the votes for the provincial legislative candidates, it turned out that the plenary document was the plenary document for the city DPRD legislative candidates, so the KPPS friends and supervisors put the ballots back into the ballot boxes to maintain the security of the ballots. Those who have been voted must vote,” he said.
Accordingly, Muliadi continued, he immediately contacted the Kendari KPU secretariat through PPS president Wundudopi Muhammad Yunus to immediately exchange the plenary document with the vote count summary.
“Although there was a delay in the counting of votes, the KPPS team together with several witnesses, Bawaslu, Linmas and assisted by TNI-Polri officers, finally finished recapping the entire administration in a safe and peaceful manner” , he said.

South East Sulawesi KPU President Asril, in a separate statement regarding public participation in exercising voting rights, said he was very proud and appreciated all election organizers involved in the 2024 elections.
“If I may say that in this 2024 election, public participation in exercising their voting rights has reached the range of 83-85% or higher compared to the elections five years ago which reached 79%,” he stated.
