“Watch Dogs” joins the list of Ubisoft game titles that have a film adaptation project. Previously, the game “Assasins’s Creed” was developed into a series by Netflix.
In addition to this, the game “Tom Clancy’s The Division” will also be made into a film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain. However, to date there is no updated information regarding these two projects.
Last year, Netflix released Adi Shankar’s animated series “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix” featuring a variety of Ubisoft games including “Far Cry,” “Assassin’s Creed,” “Rayman” and more.
It is known that currently “Watch Dogs” has three game series set in a fictional version of a city in the real world. In this game, the player controls the protagonist character of a hacker trapped in a world of crime and competition with other hackers.
Each game has different characters and settings. The first “Watch Dogs” followed protagonist Aiden Pearce set in the Chicago subway. So, the game “Watch Dogs 2” stars Marcus Holloway and is set in San Francisco.
Meanwhile, the most recent game, “Watch Dogs: Legion,” released in 2020, takes a different approach. In this game players can play as different characters located in a fictional dystopian version of London.
