8 new YouTube features you need to know about

3. Easy search
To help users quickly find the “best moments” in videos, YouTube has implemented larger preview thumbnails when searching.
“We also make it easy to change your mind: if you start searching and need to go back, move your finger to where you started and lift it when you feel a vibration; “We’ll take you back to where you left off,” YouTube said.
4. Lock screen for phones and tablets

To help users avoid accidental taps, YouTube is also rolling out a screen lock feature on phones and tablets. This allows users to lock their device screen to prevent unwanted intrusions.

YouTube has also combined the Library tab and Account page into a single umbrella called the You tab. In this section, users can find previously watched videos, playlists, downloads, and purchases, as well as account settings and channel information. This feature has been implemented in the web, mobile and tablet versions.
6. Search by sound or song
Users can now search for songs by playing, singing or humming them. The company uses artificial intelligence to match the sound to the original recording. This feature will be rolling out in the coming weeks and will be available on Android devices for now.
7. Animated buttons
When you watch a video on the web or on a mobile device, the page can provide “reactions” to what the content creator says. When a content creator asks viewers to “like” or “subscribe,” a visual cue on the button will appear in sync with the video.
8. YouTube updates for smartTVs
On Smart TV, users can find details about video what they look at in the new vertical menu. Users simply click on the video title to access the new menu. Meanwhile, the web and mobile versions also have a scrollable description section.
