1.TOEFL
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is an English language certificate commonly used for academic purposes. Various higher education institutions in the United States or Canada usually ask for TOEFL test results, considering that the language used daily in these superpowers is American English.
The TOEFL is divided into two types: TOEFL IBT (Internet Based Test) and TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program). TOEFL IBT measures participants’ listening, reading, writing and speaking skills with a score from 0 to 120. Meanwhile, the TOEFL ITP assesses proficiency in English only for certain purposes.
2. IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is preferred by prospective students who wish to continue their studies in European countries, Australia and New Zealand. While both measure four skills like TOEFL, IELTS tests British English.
IELTS is divided into two types: IELTS General Training and IELTS Academic. The type of IELTS used in an academic context is IELTS Academic. The minimum score requirements charged vary depending on each campus’ decision. However, the minimum required average IELTS score is 6.0 (competent user).
3.TOEIC
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is used to determine a person’s ability to communicate using English. More than 14,000 companies and other institutions around the world recognize TOEIC test results for job applications.

The Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) is a type of English language test commonly used to undertake further study or pursue a career in the UK. CAE is provided by Cambridge Assessment English. The CAE exam lasts 235 minutes and consists of four parts: speaking, reading, writing and listening.
