3 UNS FMIPA study programs are ASIIN accredited internationally
TIME.CO, Jakarta – A total of three study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Sebelas Maret University (WE) Surakarta has succeeded in obtaining the international accreditation Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN). The three study programs that have received international accreditation are Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
FMIPA Dean Harjana said ASIIN is a German international accreditation institute for the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture and biology. International accreditation is carried out by accreditation institutions in other countries at the request of universities or study programs to conduct reviews and evaluations of study program quality criteria or standards.
This international accreditation, he said, emphasizes the standardization of graduates’ skills through assessment of outcomes results Study program. Results determined by accreditation bodies which are generally supported by various professional associations, technical-scientific associations, industry associations, and others.
The letter of accreditation was issued directly by the international accreditation agency ASIIN on 10 October 2023. For the Physics Study Course the accreditation period runs from 18 March 2022 to 30 September 2027. While for the Chemistry Study Course and Biology the accreditation period is from 23 September 2022 to 30 September 2028.

“With the accreditation by ASIIN, the learning process in the physics, chemistry and biology curriculum is declared as compliant with international standards,” Harjana explained as quoted by the ITS website on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Harjana added that his party appreciated the achievement of ASIIN international accreditation by the three FMIPA study programmes. “With this international recognition, it is hoped that graduates of the three study programs will be accepted into the global job market and can increase the confidence of the international community,” Harjana said.
