One of the school buildings that has been completed is SMP Negeri 1 Cugenang. The school suffered serious damage, almost being razed to the ground due to the Cianjur earthquake.
Helmi said that the school building will be inaugurated this week, so his party noted that there are no longer any middle school students studying in the emergency tents. “Cugenang Middle School 1 will be inaugurated this week, so that all middle school buildings damaged by the earthquake have been completely rebuilt in recent months and all students can return to studying in class,” he said.

Aside from the earthquake-damaged school, Cianjur regent Herman Suherman said his party will repair the earthquake-damaged middle school building. He has prepared a budget from the APBD of Cianjur 2024 and various other sources.
During 2023, more than 50 school buildings were recorded to have been damaged due to age and natural disasters spread throughout the Cianjur area. “Funds have been allocated for the construction of middle school classrooms that have been damaged by natural disasters and decayed from age with a priority scale for more than two years. However, all of them will be given additional reconstruction aid phases,” he explained.
