TIME.CO, Jakarta – National Police Hospital Chief Brigadier General Pol Hariyanto said that apart from family, holidays University of Indonesia or also UI was interrogated for the purpose of examining the body of Muhammad Naufal Zidan. “So first the public relations officer of the university came, we asked him for information to clarify this case,” he said on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023.
Muhammad Naufal Zidan was a UI student majoring in Russian literature who was shot dead by his senior, Altafasalya Ardnika Basya on Wednesday 2 August. Naufal’s body was found dead under a bed in a boarding house in Beji, Depok.
The head of the Public Relations and Public Information Outreach Office at the University of Indonesia (UI) Amelita Lusia said the campus was in mourning over the incident.
“Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun. We are saddened by this incident, it is true that the victims were UI students,” Amel said.
Amel said that UI has fully entrusted the handling of the incident that happened in Naufal to the authorities. “If necessary and in accordance with the authority of the UI, we will of course cooperate with the authorities,” Amel said.
As for the uncle Muhammad Naufal ZidanMuchtar Fatoni, said the family hoped the perpetrators who killed Naufal could be punished as severely as possible in a subsequent judicial process.
“We are following the ongoing legal process. However, the family, from the victim’s mother, demanded the most severe punishment possible,” Muchtar said as he arrived at the forensic setup room at Kramat Jati Police Hospital on Friday August 4, 2023 .
Grief seemed to overwhelm Naufal’s extended family as he arrived at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital room to deal with the administrative process for recovering the body. The family itself is still awaiting further information from Depok Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit detectives who are handling the cases relating to the timeline and legal process against the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, for the funeral process, the plan provides that after the autopsy at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital the bodies will be immediately taken by the family to be buried in Lumajang, East Java.

“He will be taken to Lumajang to be buried there. Now we are still waiting for the autopsy. If it is over, God willing, the family will leave tonight,” Muchtar said.
On Friday 4 August at 21.30 WIB, the body was immediately taken to the family using the UI Ambulance after being autopsied.
“Depok Metro Police last afternoon sent the dead bodies of students from batch 2022, OK, FIB majoring in Russian literature,” said National Police Hospital Chief Brigadier General Pol Hariyanto.
The National Police Hospital will report the progress of the autopsy results soon. According to Hariyanto, an autopsy was needed because Naufal’s death was not natural.
“In fact, the suspicion was because he died unnaturally, so an autopsy was needed,” she explained.
