As reported by Techspot, a Twitter user with the account @PC_enjoyer shared a screenshot containing a warning about deleting an account because he hasn’t opened an account for too long.

In the emailed notice, Ubisoft said it had temporarily suspended the inactive account and said it would permanently delete it within 30 days if the account remained unused.

Ubisoft also includes a hotkey to open an account as soon as possible so that the account is not permanently deleted. Users can also select an undelete link contained in the email.

“We just want to say that you can avoid account termination by logging into your account within 30 days of receiving the email in the image and reactivating your account,” Ubisoft said.

This news was not well received and has reignited a debate about how much control companies retain when selling digital items. Ubisoft is currently back in the spotlight due to its controversial policies.
