Avoid Hacker Threats, MSMEs Are Expected to Be Cyber Security Experts – Okezone techno
JAKARTA – The threat of hackers in cyberspace also affects Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This threat requires MSMEs to at least be aware of cybersecurity.
Palo Alto Indonesia Country Manager Adi Rusli revealed that hackers never stop developing their attack strategies. In fact, it is said that they are increasingly creative in carrying out their actions.
According to Adi, hackers are currently not only targeting large companies but also MSMEs. The situation is increasingly serious because a large number of SMEs still consider cybersecurity as a short-term measure.
In a media discussion, Monday (18/9/2023), Adi said it is high time MSME players are better educated in keeping their companies safe from hacker attacks. According to him, this must be done to compensate for attacks.
“Many SMEs in ASEAN, including Indonesia, play an important role in supporting the country’s economy. Therefore, it is very important for them to constantly upgrade the capabilities of their security systems,” Adi said.
“This must obviously be accompanied by an incident response strategy that can be followed, as a first step in improving the security strategy,” he added.
Furthermore, Adi said that it is very important to focus more on automating cybersecurity processes already in the implementation phase. The goal is to promote resilience and a level of trust necessary to deal with cyber attacks.
“Companies’ confidence in their cybersecurity defense measures demonstrates that companies have been and will continue to be resilient to the various types of cyber threats that are increasingly developing,” he concluded.
