Apple finally allows Twitter to change its name to X on the AppStore: Okezone techno
AFTER was bound in the App Store due to Apple’s policy, finally Twitter officially changed its name to X. Initially, Twitter was not accepted to change its name to X, due to Apple’s policy that every application must have at least 2 letters.
With this change, X became the first app in the App Store to use 1 letter, bypassing the App Store policy which requires app names to be at least 2 letters long.
As reported by 9To5Mac, Apple appears to have made an exception for Musk. Even though it was bound by regulations, X finally managed to appear on the App Store.
The updated App Store page now shows an X with no extra words or letters. This also caught the attention of many developers because the Connec App Store had violated their own policies.
An exception for Musk’s App X may be granted due to the app’s notoriety. It seems that Apple will still think a thousand times about doing the same for applications designed by small developers.
Previously, on the official Apple app store, X still carried its old name with the same logo, namely the iconic blue bird known as Larry Bird, which has been in use since 2010.
